The body was taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office.

Enright said fingerprints were taken from the body and sent to a Michigan State Police crime lab.

It took the Downriver Mutual Aid Dive Team about five minutes to recover the body after a man walking his dog spotted it in the river near Meyer Ellias Park and called authorities.

The body was found about 15 to 20 feet offshore and was in the river only a couple of hours before it was recovered, according to Enright.

"As far as the details as to the foul play, I can't tell you now," Enright said. "We are working with the Detroit Police Department homicide division to indentify the body."

Enright said Detroit has a huge homicide division and a large number of missing people, which may help in identifying the woman.

"Hopefully someone will call us," Enright said. "Someone might find out their daughter or mother is missing and give us a call."
