Police Blotter: Woman's Purse Stolen at Anniversary Party

A 58-year-old woman told someone had stolen her purse while she attended her wedding anniversary party at the on Nov. 12.

She said she arrived at Westfield at about 6 p.m. and placed her purse by the back door so she could help get food ready for guests of the party. When she returned to the back door about 30 minutes later her purse was gone.

She notified employees at the Westfield Center who told her nothing had been turned in to them. She then searched the building for the remainder of the evening, but did not find the purse.

Police said they advised the woman to cancel any credit or debit cards that were in the purse and to have her bank put a check on her account.

The woman said the items in the purse were car keys, a wallet containing her driver’s license, social security card and $35 cash, a hearing aid, a cell phone and a checkbook.
