Police Blotter: Resident Receives Utility Bill from Detroit, in her Name

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 57-year-old woman told she believed she was the victim of identity fraud after she became aware of a DTE Energy bill in her name for $4,000.

The woman, who lives in the 2500 block of Dickinson Street, told police about the bill at about 1 p.m. Aug. 8.

She told police the bill is from a residential address on Stoudt Street in Detroit.

The woman said she has lived in Trenton, River Rouge and Taylor over the last 10 years, but never Detroit.

Police said the woman has records of her online payments to DTE Energy for her utilities in Trenton, but no further information about any other address.
