Police Blotter: Police Confiscate Resident's Guns

confiscated two guns from a man after a 55-year-old woman reported the man had threatened to shoot and kill her at about 8 p.m. Jan. 11 in the 2300 block of Third Street.

The woman said she was sleeping upstairs when her live-in boyfriend came home intoxicated and upset because he thinks the woman is cheating on him and leaving him, according to a police report.

She said the man walked upstairs to the bedroom, woke her up screaming and told her he was going to shoot and kill both her and her boyfriend.

The woman told police she was concerned about the threat because the man had guns.

Police arrived at the house and confiscated a shotgun and a rifle for safekeeping.

The man told police he was on the downstairs sofa watching television when the woman came downstairs and started screaming at him. He said he made no threats to the woman.

Police said both the man and the woman had been drinking.
