Police Blotter: Man Told Police His Neighbor Tried to Break Into His Apartment

responded to a call about an attempted breaking and entering at about 11 a.m. Dec. 14 at an apartment building in the 1800 block of S. Trenton Drive.

Police said they spoke to the complainant, a 47-year-old man, who told them that at about 7:30 a.m. the woman in a neighboring apartment tried to break into his apartment.

Police said they observed pry marks on the door by the doorknob.

The man said he noticed someone turning the doorknob and he looked through the peephole, which was covered from the outside.

The man made his presence known and he saw, through the peephole, a man and a woman run from his door into an apartment across the hall according to a police report.

The man told police that several different things have gone missing from his apartment and car in the past.

He added he had befriended the woman living across the hall, who knew he was receiving medication and the times he would not be at his residence.

Police said they were unable to make contact with the woman and left a Trenton Police Department business card advising the woman to contact them in regards to the incident.

The man told police in the past few months a paperback book, checkbook, bank statements, medication, cheese and dish-washing soap were missing from his apartment.
