Police Blotter: Man Swindled Out of $100

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 40-year-old man reported to the he was swindled out of $100 by a man he met at at about 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12.

The man told police he was at the Engineering Department at Trenton City Hall when a man posing as a licensed electrician, who does not work for the city, approached him and told him he would pull a building permit for him.

The man said the other man followed him to his house in the 5000 block of Hoover and said he would do the electrical work at the man’s house.

The man gave the electrician $100 to pull the appropriate permit.

The man told police he has not seen the electrician since he gave him the money.

Police said the electrician has a warrant for his arrest out of Taylor Police Department and has not had a valid driver’s license since 1990.
