Police Blotter: Call About Abducted Baby Turns Out to be False Alarm

Police received a call about an abducted baby that turned out to be a false alarm.

Police responded to a call about an abducted baby at about 11:15 a.m. March 18 from an operator at . The call turned out to be a false alarm.

Police received a call about a code pink, or newborn baby abduction, from the obstetrics ward and dispatched patrol cars to the scene. Nearly the entire police department was made aware of the incident as it occurred.

Trenton police contacted the head of security at Southshore who informed them that “everything was OK and there was no abduction.”

The man told police the hospital was conducting a drill and did not know how the police were contacted.

Police immediately made radio contact with all units and informed them that the call was a false alarm and that the hospital was conducting a drill.

One officer was sent to the hospital and confirmed that the incident was a drill.
