Police Arrest Wanted Man in Trenton Allegedly Responsible for 2 Home Invasions

The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Trenton police arrested Terrance Whaley II at about 8:40 p.m. Jan. 4 near Fort Street and King Road after searching for the man since December 2012.

Whaley, 18, of Trenton, allegedly broke into a family member's house on Oct. 20 and Nov. 5 of 2012. Trenton police Sgt. Sgt. Mark Enright said Whaley might also be in possession of stolen property.

Police arrested Whaley after a traffic stop.

An officer pulled over the Dodge Caravan Whaley was driving in after noticing the van did not have a license plate light to illuminate the registration plate, according to a Trenton police report.

The officer asked the male driver if he had been drinking and the man said he, "had consumed three or four beers," according to the same report. The officer  spotted Whaley in the rear passenger side seat and immediately identified him.

Police searched the van and found marijuana.

Whaley was arrested on three warrants out of Trenton including a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge and two felony burglary charges.

The male driver and another male passenger of the van were also arrested. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. The passenger was arrested on a warrant out of Trenton for tampering with an automobile.

A fourth passenger, a female, was released.

Whaley and the driver are being held at the Trenton Police Department jail.

The man being held on a warrant for tampering with an automobile posted $200 bond and was released. The warrant was canceled.

This looks like the same gentleman they arrested for robbing the 7-11 on King back in December.

It's pretty sad that I've gone to school with the people that are getting arrested.
