Police Blotter: Man Attacks Young Couple In Car

A young couple told police they were attacked by the woman's 22-year-old ex-boyfriend while driving at about 10:45 p.m. Dec. 31 in the 2900 block of Anna Court.

The two had gotten into the 20-year-old man’s father’s 2008 Ford Fusion parked in front of the house and were approached by a Mercury Mountaineer with the lights turned off, according to a report.

The man said the 19-year-old woman’s ex-boyfriend and about four other people exited the Mountaineer and surrounded the car.

The ex-boyfriend and the others were trying to get the man to exit the car. He then removed his shirt, wrapped it around his hand and punched the driver’s side window in an attempt to break, it according to the same report.

After a couple of punches, the ex-boyfriend hit the driver’s side mirror causing it to break, while the people surrounding the car continually struck the car causing dents in the trunk and rear bumper.

The man said the moment he got an opportunity he drove off in the car and contacted his father, who then contacted Trenton police.

The man’s father said he would like to pursue charges if possible.
