Jewelry and Currency Stolen Out of West Road Coin Shop

Several pieces of jewelry and valuable coins were stolen out of West Road Coin, Bullion and Supplies at about 5:20 a.m. June 2.

responded to an alarm at the building and found that someone broke a glass door, forced open a metal security door and entered the coin shop.

Police said they found several pieces of jewelry and U.S. currency on the floor when they entered the building.

Glass cases containing valuable items and currency had also been broken in the main show area of the coin shop.

Police said the main office in the building had several drawers pulled out and more U.S. currency was lying on the floor.

Police contacted the shop owner, Rusty Hohman, who arrived at the scene an confirmed jewelry and currency were missing.

Hohman told police he would compile a list of missing items and cash.

He added the store has a digital video recording system that should have recorded the event and would provide police with the recording.

Hohman said he cleaned up the store and opened at the regular time that morning.

“I’ve always said the best way to get back to normal is to get back to normal,” Hohman said.
