Dog Bites Dog, Given Away Despite Quarantine Request by Grosse Ile Police

Grosse Ile police responded to a call about a dog biting another dog at about 5 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 10300 block of South Loma Circle.

A Grosse Ile resident told police her dog strayed into a neighbor's yard and was bitten on the neck by another dog as she attempted to place a leash on her dog.

The woman found her dog to be bleeding and took the dog to the Wyandotte Animal Hospital where she incurred a bill for about $125. The owner of the other dog paid the woman's hospital bill.

Police told the woman whose dog did the biting to quarinetine her dog for ten days, but the woman gave the dog away a few days after the incident.

Police contacted the new owner who said he would quarintine the dog until Oct. 7.
