Copper Piping Stolen Out of Vacant Apartment

responded to a call about a suspicious open door at an apartment and found copper piping was removed at about 9 a.m. in the 4800 block of Fort Street.

Police said the door appeared to have been forced open and a search of the vacant apartment showed that copper piping out of all the sinks and basement had been stolen, as well as electrical wiring out of the basement.

The owner of the apartment told police he found eight of his apartments had been entered and damaged that morning. New toilets, shower fixtures and copper piping were stolen out of the other apartments, according to a Trenton police report.
