Car Crash Ends With Car Submerged in Blakely Drainage Creek Near Trenton

Trenton police responded to a call about a single car crash and found a 2000 Mercedes Benz submerged in the Blakely Drainage Creek near Trenton at about 3:34 p.m. March 26.

Police said the 53-year-old male driver of the car appeared to be intoxicated and the car had heavy damage.

The man attempted to take pills, while police were investigating the crash, according to a Trenton police report. Police confiscated the pills.

The driver said he didn't remember being in an accident and that he has seizures, according to the same report.

The driver complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Oakwood Southshore Medical Center where he was given a blood alcohol test and admitted.

Police said the man would be issued violations for operating while intoxicated and driving while license is suspended. The man also had two warrants out for his arrest.

Police believe the man might have also been involved in two car crash that took place earlier the same day.

The Riverview Police Department assisted in responding to the call.
