Alleged Armed Robber in Trenton Arraigned on Multiple Charges

A man who police believe robbed a Trenton 7-Eleven at gun point at about 12:50 a.m. Tuesday was arraigned on multiple charges the same day.

Andrew James Farmer was arraigned Tuesday before Judge Jennifer Coleman Hesson of the 33rd District Court in Woodhaven. Coleman Hesson set Farmer's cash bond at $25,000.

A preliminary examination of the evidence was scheduled for 9 a.m. Dec. 18 at the 33rd District Court.

Farmer is charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of felony firearm and one count of assault, resisting arrest and obstruction of a police officer, which are all felonies.

Farmer allegedly entered the 7-Eleven at 1901 King Road, pointed a hand gun at an employee, demanded money and ran out the door. He was arrested by officers of the Trenton Police Department shortly after the alleged crime was committed.

Police said they found a loaded hand gun and cash believed to be stolen during the robbery on Farmer at the time of his arrest.

Sgt. Mark Enright said officers did a fantastic job and no one was hurt despite the potential for danger due to the use of a loaded gun in the robbery.

"The heroic efforts of our police officers to protect the citizens of Trenton is unparalleled," Trenton Police Chief Jim Nardone said. "It's a great catch by a great bunch of police officers."
