Join with former Red Wing and five-time NHL All Star John Ogrodnick and FOX 2 News to honor our Veterans at the 4th Annual Grosse Ile Veterans Gala on Friday, September 13th.
Left-wing "Johnny-O" was a first-Team NHL All Star in 1985, when he scored 55 goals. John will be signing autographs for fans, and one lucky person will be going home with a personally signed #25 Ogrodnick Red Wing jersey.

The 2013 Gala will pay special tribute to “Women in the Military”.
The doors open at 4:30 PM to the sounds of the American House Choir, performing patriotic music from the 40’s and 50’s.

Military aircraft and vehicles and classic cars will be on display outside of the hangar. Guests can get "up close and personal" with a C-47 from the Yankee Air Museum, Bob Schafer's O2-A "Fighting Skymaster" and Enstrom F28-A helicopter, and many more.
Entertainers for the evening include Sharon Tocco, returning to perform her powerful rendition of “God Bless America”; the lovely Janet Bunch performing her USO act of big band/Jazz songs, and several numbers performed by Dawn Greene's talented Grosse Ile Academy of Dance.
Later, guests can dance the night away as the Waterline Groove Band performs Oldies, Classic Rock, Jazz, Country, Swing and Motown selections from the 50's through the 90's.

The evening will close with a "bang", as the Red Falcon Fireworks will begin at 10 PM - weather permitting.
Hungry? Guests will have a choice of a 1/3 lb Hamburger, a Hot Dog or a Pulled Pork Sandwich along with a side dish and chips for $5.00. Beer, Wine and Soft Drinks are also available for purchase.
Admission tickets are $12.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door and are now available at the following locations: The Candy Store in Wyandotte, Grosse Ile Recreation Department at Waters Edge, Grosse Ile Hardware Store, Grosse Ile Academy of Dance and the Grosse Ile VFW Hall. Student tickets are $6.00.
