4th Veterans Gala salutes "Women in the Military"

Join us on Friday, September 13th, 2013 for the 4th Annual Grosse Ile Veteran’s Gala, hosted by VFW Post 7310 & the NASGI Veterans Organization.
Held at the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport, the Gala annually salutes ALL Military, past and present, with this year’s special tribute to "Women in the Military".

The doors for this year's Gala will open at 4:30 pm. Ceremonies begin at 6:00 pm with the beautiful voice of Sharon Tocco “kicking off” the Gala with “God Bless America” while the Colors are presented by the US Navy Sea Cadets.

Outside Hangar 1, military aircraft and vehicles will be on display, including the Cessna O-2 Skymaster, Vultee-snv-107w, AA-5B, Enstrom F-28A Helicopter, and the C-47 Skytrain. For classic car enthusiasts, up to 40 vehicles will be on display.

Inside, a silent auction will go on throughout the evening, with as many as 100 lots available to the discerning bidders attending.

Entertainment (6:30 pm) will include performances from the Grosse Ile Academy of Dance, the American House Choir (4:45 pm), and the lovely Janet Bunch, singing Motown, Jazz and classics of the past 50 years. Later on, put on those dancing shoes, as Rob Bergman’s Waterline Groove Band will provide music for all occasions from the 50’s thru the 90’s: Oldies, Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Soul, R & B and Swing.
To top off the evening, the Red Falcon Fireworks (weather permitting) will close the Gala at 10 PM.

Food will be available for purchase, along with beer, wine and soft drinks.

So come out and join us as we celebrate the “Women in the Military and the Women who Support the Troops”!

Admission tickets are $12.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door and are now available at the following locations:  The Candy Store in Wyandotte, Grosse Ile Recreation Center, Grosse Ile Hardware Store, Grosse Ile Academy of Dance and the Grosse Ile VFW Hall.
