Downriver husband and wife clowns dominate Midwest Clown Association competitions in Livonia.

Derby and Lovely, also known as Dan and Janice Priest, of 2clowns.com in Flat Rock, MI not only assisted in coordinating lectures and vendors for the Midwest Clown Association’s 40th annual convention during October 2 – October 5 in Livonia, MI at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, but also won the lion’s share of honors. The seven state organization holds conferences in the Midwest to promote excellence in the art of children’s entertainment. To do this, it provides top notch lecturers, hosts competitions, and maintains the Clown Hall of Fame in Delevan, WI.This year, in what is guessed to be a record by the association, the husband and wife team of 2clowns.com walked away with 12 awards in the 12 competitions they entered. The sanctioned competitions include the categories of makeup/costume for whiteface, auguste, hobo and character clowns, single, multiple and combination balloon twisting, cheek art, full face painting, creative face painting, single and group skit, and parade ability.Dan and Janice took 4 first place awards, (Individual skit, single balloon, multiple balloon and balloon combination sculptures,) 3 second place awards (single balloon, full face painting and creative face painting) and 5 third place awards (whiteface makeup, auguste makeup, group skit, cheek art painting and creative face painting.)
