Wetlands Walk & Cruise the Cut

Celebrate Michigan Trails Week and National Public Lands Day by heading to this unique urban park right on the riverfront.

  • State park naturalists will guide participants on a Wetlands Walk on the hour:  12, 1 & 2 pm.
  • A Chat & Chew will be on-going, where a local herbalists discusses all the edible plants in the lowlands area.
  • Rent a bike from Wheelhouse Detroit or a Segway from Semseg (at special discounted rates!) and head up the Dequindre Cut to check out the commissioned art or just enjoy the sunshine.  But feel free to bring your own wheels!
  • While at the north end of the Dequindre Cut, head on over to Eastern Market to get a special item just for event participants.
The weather is supposed to be gorgeous ... come discover these hidden gems right in the heart of the city.  Park at Rivard Plaza.  Co-sponsored by the above businesses as well as the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy and Department of Natural Resources.
