"Sluggers for Soldiers" softball event

An all-day event to raise funds for the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Forces Association is planned in honor of Frank Socha, a downriver native who has family in the area.  They want to give back to the organizations that help special forces members and their families in getting through various difficulties. as they helped the Socha family when Frank was battling cancer.  It is called the Kilo Alpha Charlie Sluggers for Soldiers event.  The day consists of softball games all day of various ages, from t-ball to adult, and ends with a main event ~ a game between firefighters and the US military.  There will also be music provided by the Mason Dixon Band, refreshments, and prizes donated by various businesses.  The Blue Sky Ice Cream and Hamburger store is sponsoring this event.  Tickets are by donation, and can be purchased from a player in one of the games, or at the field on Saturday. More information can be obtained by calling Blue Sky at (734) 941-2583, or email them at leobluebiz@yahoo.com.
