Habitat Detroit Homeownership Fair

Habitat for Humanity Detroit will be pre-screening applicants for 0% interest rate mortgages on new, energy-efficient and rehab homes

Think you can’t afford to buy a home in these tough economic times?  Well, think again. Habitat for Humanity Detroit, an organization dedicated to rebuilding Detroit – one house, one neighborhood at a time offers a 0% interest rate mortgage on new, energy-efficient homes as well as refurbished homes.

For an average monthly mortgage payment of only $600-$650/month (less for rehab), which is often less than the current rent for substandard housing, a Habitat Detroit homeowner can receive a new four bedroom Energy Star and Michigan Green Built certified home at 0% interest with a 20 year mortgage upon completion of the homeownership program. Newly constructed homes feature a basement and come equipped with a new stove and refrigerator, compliments of Whirlpool. Refurbished homes (rehabs) are also available and offer energy efficient features, unique home layouts and varied floor plans.

Families who are interested in owning one of these homes should apply at our upcoming homeownership fair at The Samaritan Center located at 5555 Conner Street, Detroit, MI (Kilpatrick Conference Center) on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
