Video: North Trenton Residents Make Plea for Haas Building

Members of Trenton City Council voted last month in favor of demolishing the Haas Building at Haas Park.

Residents of north Trenton made a plea Monday night at the Trenton City Council meeting to urge Mayor Gerald Brown and council members to reverse their decision to at .

The decision to demolish the building was not overturned and unless residents can raise about $40,000 to fix up the building it will be demolished according to Brown.

According to Theresa Ankney of north Trenton the community surrounding Haas Park used the building for various functions including birthdays and graduation parties.

The building was home to the for over 20 years.

Council members voted in August to demolish the building due to disrepair. No date has been set for demolition.
