Trotting Around Trenton: Touring the Town with Trenton Patch's Editor

Next week Trenton Patch editor Nate Stemen will set out on the inaugural Patch Summer Tour.

The Patch Summer Tour is a challenge to delve deeper into the community. For five days straight, I'll be visiting legendary locales and unknown nooks and crannies all throughout Trenton culminating with the first day of Trenton's own Roar on the River.

I'll be posting video, photos and stories of my adventures throughout the week and I invite you to join me in person, as well as spirit, for what is sure to be one exciting ride.

• July 18-. I will join several 6- to 12-year-old kids in cooking up delicious treats at 2 p.m. at the . Maybe after the class I'll be able walk into a kitchen without hanging my head in shame. Maybe.
• July 19-. I was sold on this idea the moment I read the word "free." The good people at have decided to pay homage to that seldom-used word by allowing patrons over 21 years old an opportunity to bowl for only the cost of rental shoes. I will be there the second free bowling begins at 9 p.m.
• July 20-. I'm getting my world-famous bag of chips and two-liter bottle of Diet Mt. Dew ready for a potluck dinner at . After a short service, I will join the others in the activities and listen to music. All ages are welcome, so get the family together and come see me at 6 p.m., but don't forget to bring something for the potluck.
• July 21-Sitting Poolside. I take my job very seriously, which is why I have decided to relax poolside at the for a short portion of the day. I will be soaking in the sun from noon to 1 p.m. I may even take a trip down the water slide. Yeah, it's that kind of party.
• July 22-. Friday will be about all the activities, food and music that make up one of Trenton's most popular annual events taking place in the beautiful . I will be handing out Patch swag during the races from 3 to 6 p.m. Next up, my eyes will be glued on Typhoon Tommy's Jet Ski Show starting at 6 p.m. Two lucky Patch readers will attend "" compliments of Trenton Patch.
