Trenton Races Bring Hot Music

The band line-up for Roar on the River is set to keep patrons rocking.

This weekend is jam packed. Bands are set to perform on Friday and keep Trenton rocking throughout Sunday for the weekend.

Before the hired acts make the stage, check out . Watch as people young and old take the stage and sing a song of their selection in hopes of becoming the next Roar Idol and winning one of three prizes.

After the amatures have had their chance to shine, then come the stars of the show.

The Nandez Band will perform from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Friday, followed by headliner Hidden Agenda from 8 p.m. until midnight.

Saturday’s entertainment will include a special appearance by the United States Navy Band “Horizon” out of Great Lakes, Illinois, from 6 to 8 p.m. and a concert by headliner Category 5 from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Hidden Agenda and Category 5 are Detroit area bands with strong followings and have performed in the past at Roar on the River to rave reviews.

Hidden Agenda is often referred to as Detroit’s “Ultimate Party Band” as the group plays a wide range of music, including Top 40, funk, party dance music, classic rock, rhythm and blues, Motown, country, smooth jazz and the blues.

Category 5 is a high-energy band that plays a combination of cover material and original music. Formed five years ago, Category 6 performs everyday and current dance favorites to artists such as Bostoin, Van Halen, Journey and Rush.
