Fall leaves are most beautiful when they change color and swing in the wind. But, after they fall from the trees they quickly change from awe-inspiring forces of nature to colorful messes in the yard.

Grosse Ile does not have specific leaf collection dates. Instead, residents are asked to bag their leaves and put them at the curb on their regularly scheduled waste pickup days. Yard waste removal ends the week of December 10-14.

Trenton city officials ask that residents do not park on leaf piles because they cannot be removed and present a fire hazard. Wetting leaves with a garden hose can prevent blowing and reduce the risk of fire. Do not mix grass clippings in with leaves.
