Trenton Police Chief Jim Nardone encouraged people to call a taxi or their local police department if in need of a ride on St. Patrick's Day.
"Call us before you get in the car," Nardone said. "If you come into contact with us after you get behind the wheel it will be much more expensive. We would much rather make arrangements to help."

The City of Trenton offers a wonderful shuttle service to Trenton Seniors (60 and older) called 'Trenton Transportation', and we also offer a 'Loop' SMART service to residents on Mondays and Wednesdays. The Transportation service is available Monday through Friday 8:00 am til 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm. Passengers must be pre-registered to use both these services and can do so by calling the Westfield Activities Center at 675-0063.
