Stuff You Need to Know: Aug. 3

Here are a few things to help you get your day started right.

Good morning Trenton. Here's a rundown of what you need to know today.

  1. Try not to leave the house before 8 a.m. today. The National Weather Service is calling for a possible thunderstorm before 8 a.m. and scattered showers between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. with a high near 83 degrees. Winds could gust up to 21 mph. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
  2. In recognition of Trenton's rich hockey traditions, we bring you the Hockey Term of the Day: double minor, a type of minor penalty given for certain accidental infractions that result in an injury to another player or for certain deliberate attempts to injure an opponent that are unsuccessful; penalty time of 4 minutes is served, double the time of a normal minor penalty.   3. The votes for the mayoral primary are in and Steven McNeely is out. The late last night and the front runner is current City Clerk Kyle Stack with incumbent Mayor Gerald Brown hanging on. Both Brown and Stack will continue to the November election. For total votes click here.
  4. Assuming the weather doesn't spoil the event (again) the that was rescheduled from last week due to rain will take place tonight. Tonight's movie is Megamind. The fun begins at dusk.
