Monday Afternoon Thunderstorms to Hit Wayne County

The storms are expected to reach Trenton by 12:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service reported just before noon that a line of "rapidly developing thunderstorms" area headed toward Wayne County.

The storms extend from nine miles northeast of Milford to four miles wet of Ann Arbor and are moving northeast at 45 miles per hour.

Storms are expected to hit Wyandotte and Dearborn by 12:30 p.m. after sweeping through Clarkston, Willis, Dixboro, Salem, Oxford, Belleville, Romulus, Flat Rock, Taylor, Trenton and Grosse Ile.

Residents are advised to seek shelter until the storms have subsided, and to move small objects such as trashcans inside. Residents can expect pea-sized hail, winds greater than 30 miles per hour, lightening, and brief but heavy downpours.
