Inspirational Speaker Featured on ESPN to Speak in Trenton

In 2002, Brad Hurtig lost both of his hands in a devastating accident and one year later he led his high school football team with 111 tackles -- without hands.

Inspiration can come from a number of places. A song. A poem. An interestingly shaped cloud.

Inspiration can also strike after hearing Brad Hurtig's story of overcoming adversity and navigating through seemingly impossible obstacles.

Hurtig's left hand and half of his right arm were amputated following a devastating accident in 2002 -- when he was in tenth grade.

Before the accident Hurtig was a three sport athlete, and instead of giving up he figured out a way to, not only play sports without his hands, but excel at them.

By the time Hurtig was a senior he was back playing football and baseball. During his senior year Hurtig led his northwestern Ohio high school football team with 111 tackles.

Hurtig and his story garnered the attention of ESPN, The New York Times and Montell Williams.

Now, Hurtig shares his story to inspire others. You can hear his story at 6 p.m. Aug. 12 at in Trenton.

Hurtig will be speaking in front of a number of athletes from high schools across Downriver. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
