Five Things to Know Today: June 3

A handful of things to get you going in Trenton today.

Here are five things you need to know to start your day.

  1. You may want to have the umbrella handy today. According to the National Weather Service there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. It's going to be mostly cloudy with a high temperature near 62 degrees.
  2. In recognition of Trenton's rich hockey traditions, we bring you the Hockey Term of the Day: assist, meaning the pass or passes which immediately precede a successful scoring attempt; a maximum of two assists are credited for one goal. Terms brought to you by www.firstbasesports.com.
  3. Today is the last day to register for the swim club, the diving program and bubble blowers. The classes are available through the Trenton Parks and Recreation Department and you can register for these classes and many others online.
  4. Take a moment to have fun.
  5. For those who enjoy a quiet Saturday morning, Trenton Parks and Recreation is holding a class on How to Create a Butterfly Friendly Zone from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trenton Cultural Center.
