Trenton Business Damaged in Fire to Reopen this Week

The Beach Tanning owner Vicki Buk encouraged customers to come back to her salon after the doors are reopened.

After nine weeks of rebuilding, The Beach Tanning is ready to reopen on Thursday.

The West Road business closed for repairs after a fire at West Coin Shop on caused significant damage to the tanning salon on May 21. Owner Vicki Buk said her salon had water and smoke damage.

While the exterior remains unchanged, the interior of the salon, though it looks similar to before the fire, was cleaned and repainted. New carpeting and a new ceiling were also installed after being damaged as firefighters searched for fire that might have spread from the point of origin.

Buk said all items inside the salon were cleaned and put back—in the same condition as they were before the fire.

Buk encouraged her former customers to comeback and check out the newly-restored interior.

"I hope to get some new customers and I hope to keep my customers," Buk said. "I hope nobody has gone away and experienced something better somewhere else."

Buk, her husband Leo and her daughter Olivia rely heavily on revenue generated from their family business. The three spend most of their time tending to the salon and helping customers.

The Beach Tanning, 3931 West Road, is holding a grand reopening Thursday to mark their return to Trenton. Patrons can enjoy giveaways and participate in a silent auction throughout August. Call The Beach Tanning for more information 734-692-3322.

West Coin Shop is the only business out of four damaged in the fire that has not reopened or set a reopening date.
