  • Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center:  The Scene:  Find the ultimate relief
    from the summer sun at Turtle Cove in Lower Huron Metropark.  Their water slides, lap pool, kids’ sprayscape, lazy river, and hill for sun bathing offer a splash filled day of fun.  And when stomachs start growling head to Turtle Cove Grill for some food and refreshments.  Turtle Cove offers families hours of fun and entertainment!


  • Metro Beach Metropark:  The Scene:  Located on Lake St. Claire, Metro Beach Metropark has an abundance of activities for families, including a large beach, fitness and biking trails, and an entertainment complex with
    marinas, a pool with diving boards and slides, a volleyball court and a
    board walk.  Kids will love the “Squirt Zone,” where they can play with water shooting equipment.  For a little relaxation, take a walk on the boardwalk or have lunch on the patio. 


  • Red Oaks Waterpark:  The Scene:  Part of the Oakland County park system,
    Red Oaks is a great and affordable way to cool down on a hot summer day.  Spend the day with your family as kids play in the interactive water playscape, teens hit the waves in the wave pool, mom takes a ride on the lazy river, and the daring take a trip down the three flume waterslide. 

  • Detroit Zoo:  The Scene:  With many engaging experiences for kids of all ages, visit the Detroit Zoo to take a trip through an Asian Forest,
    the Australian Outback, or African Grasslands, and witness animal viewings, feedings, and demonstrations. Made up of numerous exhibitions, the Detroit Zoo interestingly displays the world of animals through the Wild Adventure 3D/4D Theatre, shows the world through the eyes of animals on the Wild Adventure Ride, and presents a scenic view of the zoo on the Tauber Family Railroad.  Don’t forget to visit Dinosauria 2011, the largest outdoor animatronic dinosaur exhibit in the country.  For more information visit

  • Plymouth Art in the Park:  The Scene:  In its 32nd year, Plymouth’s Art in the Park is Michigan’s second largest art festival in the state,  showcasing arts and crafts, musical artists, and kids activities.  Rated one of the “Gems of the Great Lakes” by AAA Magazine, Art in the Park is a family oriented event that has something to offer everyone in Plymouth’s historic downtown.  It’s a great way for families to enjoy the festival experience at a premier arts and crafts show.
