News Brief: Chrysler Considers Reusing Closed Engine Plant in Trenton

Chrysler might reopen a closed engine plant in Trenton to manufacture parts.

According to Trenton Mayor Gerald Brown, the might be considering reopening a closed engine plant at 2000 Van Horn Rd. to be used for manufacturing various auto parts.

Trenton City Council members are set to vote on creating an Industrial Development District at the building so Chrysler can begin turning a portion of the old building into a new parts manufacturing facility.

"If council would approve Act 198 for it, we believe that they will go forward for partial use of the old building," Brown said.
