Grosse Ile Women Turn Recycling into Receipts

You can find almost anything at Tossed and Found in Wyandotte. Here are the items we liked the most.

Jean Knapp, 52, and Stephanie Hyland, 45, of Grosse Ile turned their interest in recycling into a full-time business.

The two opened Tossed and Found, 128 Sycamore, in 2010 to provide a place for people to sell their gently used items as a way to keep them out of area landfills.

Three years later the store is packed with hundreds of items sold on consignment.

Tossed and Found recently begun carrying Country Living paints presented by Caromal Colours. Customers can now bring in old furniture and get a new exterior finish.

Of the hundreds of interesting items, Patch found five of the coolest. Check out the photo section of this article for a look at our top five picks.

  1. Armoire.
  2. Antique luggage.
  3. Necklace with matching broach.
  4. Dress, purse and necklace combo.
  5. Purse and shoes combo.
Knapp and Hyland are always looking for new items. Tossed and Found accepts women's in-season clothing, accessories, shoes and jewelry. They also accept furniture, home decor items, linens, wall art, lamps and rugs.

There's almost no end to the items Knapp and Hyland are willing to sell. Call 734-720-0728 for more information.
