Grosse Ile Resident Featured on ABC's Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition

Fans of ABC's hit reality show Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition have a chance to be part of the television program's audience during a special taping at Oakwood Hospital on April 12 in Dearborn.

The show's producers will be filming the 2013 season finale showcasing Oakwood nurse Trina Miller and six of her colleagues, who were selected to participate on the program.

Miller, a resident of Grosse Ile, has always struggled with her weight, putting the needs of others before her own, the hospital said in a press release. For the past year, Miller's team focused on nutrition, exercise and keeping each other motivated and inspired.

"Traditionally a show that features one person’s journey, the producers were intrigued by the story of healthcare workers who neglected their own health needs to care for others," said Brian M. Connolly, president of Oakwood Healthcare. "This is a rare privilege and a proud moment for us and we invite the public to join us at the join us at the finale as we celebrate the achievements of our nurses."

ABC will film the final weigh-in from 7 to 11 p.m. on April 12 at the Oakwood Physical Therapy and Wellness Center, 17101 Rotunda Drive.

Audience participants should dress casual. Clothes with logos, or all black or all white clothes are not permited. This event will be filmed outside. Participants should come dressed according to the weather.
