Abatement Completed at Former Riverside Hospital in Trenton

Former Riverside Property owner Iqbal Nasir plans to use at least three floors in the main building.

An effort to remove asbestos and other harmful materials at three buildings on the former Riverside Hospital property was completed this week, according to Trenton Mayor Kyle Stack.

Stack said the abatement foocused on the boiler room, church and annex professional building.

Crews removed asbestos and mold from the buildings to prepare them for demolition or use.

Plans to demolish the boiler room and church are currently in place, but Stack did not have date of demolition.

Stack said, she has not seen property owner Iqbal Nasir's master plan, but was optimistic about the future of the property.

Nasir plans to use at least three floors in the main building for patients with an array of ailments including brain injury.
