Here are the five questions followed by Carafelli's responses:

When did you open?

"In 2003."

What’s so great about doing business in Trenton?

"This used to be the old Trenton Jewelers. Back when I first moved in here there was just nothing here at all. It was just a big empty shell. I wanted to stay Downriver and compared to Wyandotte, which was way more expensive than down here, so it was more affordable, but there was more I had to do.

"I built it the way I wanted it. It's coming along."

What sets you apart from other chiropractors?

"The way I adjust. I do activator technique, which is the low force adjusting technique; instead of the traditional hand manipulation.

"Some people don't like the hand manipulation or the pop that you hear. I use a handheld instrument that moves the bone without it."

What’s your most helpful service?

"My technique. It's a different way of moving the bone. It's easier on me to do and it's easier on the patient. It's less jarring. I get a lot of older people.

"It's more specific than my hands."

What else do you do?

"We also do nutritional response testing. If the adjustments don't fix the problem, then we'll check to see if there's some kind of sensitivity...something they're eating, some bad chemical, some kind of metal.

"For instance if somebody comes in with headaches and they keep getting them all week and you find out that there's some bad rye in the bagels they've been eating everyday.

"It's a type of Kinesiology that uses muscle testing to find weaknesses in the organ or find out what's in your system that’s bothering you."
