Trenton Business Helps 'Wipe Out Breast Cancer' With Pink Wipers

Valvoline Instant Oil Change began a company wide effort to raise money for breast cancer organizations by selling bright pink wiper blades.

You don't have to be NASCAR driver Danica Patrick to add a splash of pink to your car in support of breast cancer awareness month.

As part of a company-wide effort, Valvoline Instant Oil Change on West Road began selling AutoTex PINK wiper blades in early October to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

The wipers are part of AutoTex's "Wipe Out Breast Cancer" campaign.

There are four different wiper blades to choose from including an entirely pink blade. Other blades are black with small pink ribbons located near the center of the blade.

Manager Martin Starman said the wiper blades have been selling fast. Many of the sales have been to woman, but occasionally a man will stop in for a set of pink wiper blades, he said.

"Recently, a man stopped in for a set of pink wiper blades for his green work truck," Starman said.

Drivers can stop in to purchase pink wiper blades from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m Sunday.

A portion of the proceeds of the AutoTex wiper sales go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc and the Breast Cancer Society of Canada.
