Downriver Community Band performs Halloween Concert

Are you ready for some eerie music to get you in the Halloween mood? The Downriver Community Band (DCB) will perform its first formal Halloween concert at the Trenton Village Theatre on Oct. 29, 2011 at 7 pm. The concert theme is “Groovin’ in the Graveyard."

The band’s newly appointed conductor, Martin Miles, will lead the band in several spirited selections including Phantom of the Opera, Things That Go Bump in the Night, The Incredibles and others guaranteed to get your bones a rattling, or at least tapping.

Miles assumed the baton of the DCB in July. He brings more than 30 years of experience as music director in public school programs in Michigan and Missouri. Miles obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education from Michigan State University and studied advanced conducting techniques under Gene Corporon and H. Robert Reynolds. He is an accomplished musician, playing the saxophone, piano, and drums.

Tickets are a nominal $5 at the door. Costumes are encouraged.
