You Ought to be In Pictures: Detroit Public Television Thinks So, Too

If you’ve got a can of Super 8 footage memorializing an unforgettable vacation from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, it might find its way into a documentary.

Hmmm, about that time Mom and Dad packed you, your three siblings, Grandma and the family dog into the old Ford Thunderbird and got lost on the way to Mackinaw Island: Detroit Public Television wants that old can of Super 8 footage memorializing the adventure for a documentary on unforgettable Michigan vacations.

The documentary will be titled, appropriately, “Michigan Vacation Memories.” Here’s what they’re looking for:

  • Moving picture film footage of vacations in Michigan fromt h 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
  • Your best Michigan vacation story.

To have your family featured in the documentary, tell the story or describe it in the film. If Detroit Public Television ends up using the film footage in the documentary, you’ll get a free high-definition digital copy of it.
