Trenton Grad Uses Musical Talent to Feed the Needy

In 2008, Trenton High School graduate and flutist Colleen Riley Herman played a solo concert at a local church and raised $1,100 for the Trenton Food Pantry. She hopes to raise even more at her next performance.

Trenton High School graduate and flutist Colleen Riley Herman isn't rich. She said she doesn't have money to give to local charities.

Instead, she uses her talent for playing the flute to raise money for charitable causes like the Trenton Food Pantry. In 2008, she raised $1,100 for the food pantry.

"People ask me why I do this, and I feel my talent is my god given way to help others," Riley Herman said.
