Tots Compete for Bragging Rights at Elizabeth Park

Children from across Downriver descended on Elizabeth Park to compete in several events at the Nursery School Olympics.

Much like the diapers worn by many of the day's athletes, individual events at this year's Nursery School Olympics were full.

Parents from across Downriver brought children of all ages to compete in events like marshmallow shot-put, tricycle race, free throw contest and many more.

Children tired of waiting their turn at individual events enjoyed other park features including an outdoor skate park and a large playscape.

Joann Perna, director of parks and recreation for Trenton, ran the event with a smile and an enthusiasm that kept participants interested in all events.
