Stuff You Need to Know: June 15

Trenton Patch gets you the information you need to start your day off right.

You need to know this.

  1. We have another truly perfect day ahead of us. According to the National Weather Service the day will be mostly sunny with a high near 73 degrees. Winds could gust up to 22 mph. Temperatures will drop to a low of about 60 degrees overnight and we could see some rain. There is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
  2. In recognition of Trenton's rich hockey traditions, we bring you the Hockey Term of the Day: body check, when a hockey player bumps or slams into an opponent with either his hip or shoulder (the only legal moves) to block his progress or throw him off-balance; it is only allowed against an opponent in control of the puck or against the last player to control it. Terms are brought to you by www.firstbasesports.com.
  3. For those underclassmen at who didn't graduate on Friday, final exams start today. Last night would have been a good night to start studying. Good luck. Class will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m.
  4. For those who intend to play summer basketball there is an informational parent meeting to discuss the summer and the future season. Meet in the Senior Cafe at 6 p.m. at Trenton High School.
  5. Congratulations to former Trenton Trojan who was the starting pitcher for the San Diego Padres for Monday night's game against the Colorado Rockies. The 2005 graduate pitched five innings, giving up five hits and one strikeout. He walked away with a 3-1 win. Not bad for his first time out. We hope to see him again very soon.
