Judy Forth, RN, had one of her birthday wishes come true on Jan. 1.
Forth, 60, was on shift at the Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center in Dearborn when Oakwood welcomed the first babies of the year.
“I’ve been waiting for years for this,” said Forth, who has worked at Oakwood for the last 20 years. She was a first baby of the year herself, arriving at Lincoln Hospital in Detroit 60 years ago at 17 minutes past midnight.

Anaid Perez arrived shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Oakwood to mother Diana Perez and father Luis Perez of Detroit.
“I knew she would come on New Year’s Day, but thought she would come earlier in the morning,” said Diana Perez. “Everything is good.”

Oakwood Southshore Medical Center in Trenton did not have any births on New Year's Day, according to Scott Spielman, marketing and media relations officer for Oakwood Healthcare, Inc.
