Grosse Ile Holiday Trash Schedule, Christmas Tree Disposal

Christmas trees are not considered regular trash pick up in Trenton. Find out what you need to do before you take the tree out to the curb.

Soon, the gifts will all be unwrapped and the tree will be as bare as the day you brought it home (or opened the box). Christmas will soon be over and now you'll have more trash than any other day of the year.

Here's the holiday trash schedule and Christmas tree disposal plan for Grosse Ile:

  • Trash will not be collected on Christmas Day or New Year's Day. Rubbish will be collected one day later than normal and into Saturday, according to Waste Management.
  • Trash collection will be limited to ten thirty-two gallon trash containers.
  • Cardboard boxes are not to be used as trash receptacles. Cardboard boxes must be broken down and tied.
  • Residents must call Waste Management 1-800-796-9696 to schedule a special pick up for Christmas trees. There is no charge for this service.
