This month, Gleaners Community Food Bank and Kroger are working together to bring hope to the tables of hungry southeast Michiganders.
Each Saturday in January, volunteers will spend their day at local Kroger grocery stores across southeast Michigan, handing out information about the Bringing Hope to the Table initiative, as well as accepting donations of nonperishable food and money from shoppers.
Volunteers will be out at the Trenton and Grosse Ile area Kroger stores this Saturday, Jan. 5, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., in addition to other locations in Wayne County.
Woodhaven and Grosse Ile Kroger stores are located at 19001 West Road in Woodhaven and 8999 Macomb St. on Grosse Ile.
Volunteers for Bringing Hope to the Table will be in Macomb County on Jan. 12, Oakland County on Jan. 19, and Livingston and Monroe counties on Jan. 26.
Volunteers are still needed for every date except Jan. 19. To sign up, or to learn more information, go to the Gleaners website.
