23rd Annual Trenton High School Band Invitational

The Trenton High School Band Boosters are proud to present the 23rd Annual Trenton Band Invitational on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Trenton High School Farrer Athletic Field. 

Seventeen visiting bands will compete in the Scholastic Band Association Competition, including Chippewa Valley, Dearborn Crestwood, Dundee, Farmington, Flat Rock, Gibraltar Carlson, Grosse Ile, John Glenn, Livonia Franklin, Ortonville Brandon, Redford Thurston, Roseville, SCS Lakeview, Taylor Kennedy, Taylor Truman, Woodhaven, and Wyandotte Roosevelt.  The event will begin at 2 p.m. with Trenton’s Arthurs Middle School performing the National Anthem, and commence with an awards ceremony at 4:45 and 8:00 p.m.  

Just before the last awards ceremony and under the direction of Mike Kurilko, the Trenton High School Marching Band – Downriver’s largest with 171 members – will perform their show “California Dreamin” in exhibition.

“Our band family has been working hard for months to make sure that all visiting bands and their fans are treated to a great, friendly day of marching band competition in what one adjudicator has called 'the best and most well run marching band show in Michigan.”    Mike Kurilko 

The fundraiser features a concession stand, 50-50 and raffle prize drawings.

The Trenton Music Program is sponsored by several local organizations including A&R Music, GornoFord/Gorno Mazda, Metro Shores Credit Union, Roadhouse BBQ, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Trenton Laser Center, Water’s Edge Golf Course, and Drs. Jackson, Snider and Parker.
