"It saddens me to hear that the health care bill was upheld today. Government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. As a result, the quality of care that we as Americans receive will decrease. Seniors have already been denied Mammograms, PSA's and Kidney Dialysis as a result of this bill. I think it's a great statement! There's a lot of things wrong with this law, one of them being that the Fed doesn't have the money to pay for it! As a result, this law is now the largest tax increase in history! With that will come continued economic woes as well as diminished levels of care in the health industry as Cynthia mentioned. We've been told that this health care is free but we should all know that nothing is free and since that's the case where's the money going to come from? It's going to come from us, leaving us with less money to spend on the things we want to spend it on! I agree with Cynthia and she has my vote!

Well, she just lost whatever chance she may have had for my vote. Granted that its not the best and will I have to be modified. But what major piece of legislation hasn't? Health care in this country needs a major overhaul.

Ms Killgren - you are not in touch with your constituency. The majority of us are proudly blue collar.
I would suggest you take the time to go visit, Wyandotte's Clinic for the EMPLOYED UNINSURED. Amazingly, the volunteers & a Michigan state grant provide healthcare to these hard working individuals.
Statistically Americans have lost 40% of their wealth in the last financial fiasco. Employers are dropping benefits because they can. Yet, the employers do not give the monies benefits cost to them in additional salary.
Obamacare is not the answer.
However, it is the start.
I personally do not believe in playing russian roulette with my healthcare. Others do. They believe everyone else should be ready to provide for them. Fair is fair. Let them pay their share!

This is not the "free" in freedom our forefathers were fighting for when they sacrificed sons, land and homes, comfort and wealth to form a more perfect union. We have certain "inalienable" rights (Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness) given to us by our Creator. We read these words in the 2nd paragraph of our Declaration of Independence. And when we read just one sentence further the signers declare, "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it..."
Our form of government has become destructive to these ends. It wishes and strains to assert itself as the grantor of these rights. If Mrs. Kalgren believes that she has the intelligence, the fight and the will in her to take on a system of bureaucracy that hell bent on serving itself rather than the people. We should support her. Freedom requires sacrifice. That is something our entrenched Democrats and Republicans have long separated themselves from..."sacrifice" It is our children and grandchildren that are being sacrificed for our now, so our perceived comforts can continue. It has been long before Mr. Dingell took up office in 1955 that our country - as a whole - understood putting aside our needs for those of the next generation. We have the greatest country on earth...if we are willing to stand up for it, like our first fathers of our great nation.

Can anyone honestly and seriously remark on what Obama, Dingell, Stabenow, and Levin have actually accomplished for the great citizens of Michigan. And keep in mind, most citizens of the US are opposed to Obama Care, other then the folks voted into office who side with their own party line, who again, did not listen to their constituents or care how they really felt on this or other issues. Elections do have consequences!

If you don't count the 17 NEW taxes that you and I will have to pay that fund this program, then you can actually in a state of denial say that this program is free. After all if your pay-check won't take you home now, how does a smaller pay-check get you home?
