A 25-year-old Trenton woman was arrested during a traffic stop for allegedly possessing marijuana at about 10 p.m. Nov. 26.
The woman was pulled over by Trenton police after she allegedly texted while driving, according to a Trenton police report.
Police said the woman was looking at her cell phone and appeared to be reading the screen, while stopped at a red light. About five seconds after the light changed to green the woman looked up and then back down at the phone and began driving, according to the same report.
An officer then pulled the woman over at Harrison Avenue and Ardmore Street.
The officer said he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. He asked her to exit the car, so he could look inside and she agreed, according to the report.
The officer said he searched the car and the woman's purse and found a small black bag that contained two suspected marijuana roaches and a glass pipe with suspected burnt marijuana inside, and a small baggie containing a green leafy substance that smelled like marijuana.
The woman was handcuffed and arrested for alleged possession of marijuana.
