The purchase came at no cost to the City of Trenton.

Trenton Police Chief Jim Nardone sent out for bids from Chrysler, Ford and General Motors. He said he selected the Chrysler bid because he believes Chrysler to be a local brand due to the Trenton Engine Plant.

Bids from General Motors and Ford were about $4,000 less than the Chrysler bid.

"We wanted to buy local because of the many friends and neighbors we have working for Chrysler," Nardone said.
