Trenton Police Arrest Alleged Prescription Drugs Thieves
The following information was supplied by the Trenton Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Trenton police arrested a 23-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman for allegedly breaking into West Grange Pharmacy and stealing prescription drugs at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police said the two broke one of the glass front doors of the pharmacy and gained access to the drugs while the store was closed.
Officers responded to the pharmacy's breaking and entering alarm. While en route, a responding officer received an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of the alleged thieves.
Officers caught up with the man and the woman on Pinetree Drive north of West Road shortly after the alarm sounded. Police found several prescription drugs on them at the time of their arrest.
Trenton Deputy Chief Steve Voss said the man and the woman might have also been involved in a similar crime that took place in the early morning hours in an adjoining community.
"Once again the hard work of the Trenton police officers have captured two criminals and taken them off the streets of Trenton," Voss said.
Trenton police would not comment on the specific drugs allegedly taken out of the pharmacy.
The two were transported to the Trenton Police Department jail, where they are awaiting arraignment.
